"When we treat patients with multiple problems, the Prosthodontist becomes the architect."

Our Four Phases of Treatment

Listen and Gather Information

  • At the first appointment, our purpose is to listen!
  • Our goal is to best understand your motivation for coming and your main concerns.
  • We need to determine how the problem developed and how it relates to your entire mouth & overall health.
  • The following information will be needed: oral examination, radiographs, impressions, and photographs.

Treatment Planning with Outside Sources

  • Treatment planning involves putting together all of the information gathered from the initial appointments and then carefully examining your condition.
  • Your concerns are carefully analyzed, including evaluation of your bite, function, and underlying periodontal condition and esthetics; solutions are evaluated about how they will be maintained and the long-term prognosis of each treatment
  • Often this phase involves collaboration with other general dentists or specialists, which may include Oral Surgeons, Periodontists, Orthodontists, Endodontists, Pediatric Dentists, and in most cases Dental Laboratory Technicians.
  • This may also involve referral to dental imaging centers to have a 3-dimensional radiograph made, called a CBCT, or Cone Beam Computerized Tomography.
  • After consolidating all of the gathered opinions and workups, it is then our job to carefully and creatively devise treatment options to manage your dental goals.

Presentation

  • The goal is to present dental treatment options in understandable language so that you can make an educated and comfortable decision. This includes:
  • The time frame involved with each plan and the various ways to sequence treatment.
  • Fees associated with the treatment, including payment plans and estimation of insurance benefits if they apply.
  • Describing the possible complications that may occur during and aftercare.
  • Estimating long-term prognosis for each treatment option given.
  • The steps and estimated number of appointments needed to complete the care in our office and other specialty offices.

Skillful Execution of the Plan

  • Once you decide on a plan, our office will assist in the coordination of your care.
  • It is then our goal to execute the care in the most skillful and professional manner possible.
